Lucy Best

Lucy Best is a Senior Associate with ASG’s China practice, where she supports clients through research and project coordination.  

Prior to joining ASG, Ms. Best served as a Research Associate for the Council on Foreign Relations, where she conducted research on Chinese foreign policy and domestic politics. She also contributed to the China-focused policy research firm, Trivium China, from Taipei, providing research and analyses for its publications on developments in China’s political economy for corporate audiences. Previously, Ms. Best served as Director of the Duke-UNC China Leadership Summit, where she oversaw one of the top student-led conferences on Chinese politics, society, and international relations. She also held internship positions at SupChina and the UNC Project-China, when she was based in Guangzhou.  

As a Blakemore Freeman Fellow, Ms. Best studied in the International Chinese Language Program at the National Taiwan University for a year. She holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Political Science and Asian Studies. She is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.  

Ms. Best is based in Washington, D.C.
