Aneesh Chopra
Aneesh Chopra is a Senior Advisor at ASG, where he uses his deep knowledge of technology policy, cybersecurity, and innovation issues to help technology clients navigate the evolving regulatory landscapes, engage key stakeholders and policymakers, and realize growth opportunities in markets around the world.
Mr. Chopra was appointed by President Barack Obama as the first Chief Technology Officer of the United States (2009-2012). In this role he used innovative techniques and platforms to improve healthcare delivery, energy, and education among other functions of government. He also designed the National Wireless Initiative and executed an “open innovation” strategy across the government built on private sector collaboration.
Mr. Chopra is the Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Hunch Analytics, an incubator and analytics company focused on the health care and education fields. In addition, he is author of the book Innovative State: How New Technologies Can Transform Government, which explores how the United States can tap entrepreneurial problem solvers to address challenges in health, energy, and education markets among other public and regulated sectors.
Previously, Mr. Chopra served as Secretary for Technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and as a Managing Director for the Advisory Board Company, a firm that uses research, technology, and consulting to improve the performance of healthcare organizations.
In 2015, Mr. Chopra was named Walter Shorenstein Media and Democracy Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He holds an M.P.P. from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a B.A. in Health Policy from Johns Hopkins University.
