Aran Mehta is an Associate with ASG’s South Asia practice, where he advises clients on trade, investment, and public policy in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other South Asian markets.

Prior to joining ASG, Mr. Mehta interned at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS), where he leveraged emerging technology to investigate and report on transnational illicit networks that facilitate North Korean maritime oil trafficking and other state-sponsored gray zone activities. 

Before that, Mr. Mehta worked as a management consultant at ZS Associates, where he supported client engagements in the financial services sector.

Mr. Mehta received his B.A. in Political Science from Northwestern University, with a minor in Entrepreneurship and a certificate in Sustainability and Energy. During his time at Northwestern, he studied abroad at Peking University in Beijing, China, and wrote his senior thesis on the impact of Hindu nationalism on India’s relations with Muslim-majority countries. He is proficient in Spanish.

Mr. Mehta is based in Washington, D.C.
