Aleen Murtaza
Aleen Murtaza is an Associate Partner with our Special Economic Zones (SEZs) practice, where she helps clients navigate complex regulatory environments in several policy areas, including economic regeneration, tourism and culture, agriculture, sustainability, development, and infrastructure.
She brings over a decade of experience in economic modelling, forecasting and analysis as well as sector-specific expertise in trade, transport, food retail, welfare and pensions. Prior to joining ASG, Ms. Murtaza was a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in their Economics and Sustainability division, where she advised local government bodies and other stakeholders on various Saudi Vision 2030 projects.
Previously, she was an economic advisor for the UK’s Department for Transport (DfT) where she advised Tier 1 Transport Infrastructure Investment Board, in representing Economic Centre of Excellence. She worked as Analysis Appraisal and Assurance lead on projects for various modes of transport including Aviation. She was also an assistant economist for the UK’s Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and a Food and Environmental Risk Economist for the Department for Food, Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra), where she analyzed complex economic data to identify trends, evaluate strategies, navigate EU regulations for the common market and develop policy insights.
Ms. Murtaza earned her M.A in Economics from Uppsala University Sweden.
She is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
