Saumya Varma is a Director with the India practice, where she advises clients on policy, regulatory and investment matters in the Indian market. 

Ms. Varma’s experience comprises multiple sectors, including tech, cybersecurity, skilling, media and entertainment, telecom, sustainability, and electronics manufacturing.

Prior to joining DGA-ASG, Ms. Varma was heading the legislative and policy research unit of a leading national party in India and worked closely with over 90 members of parliament for five years focusing on policy, governance, advocacy, and regulatory issues within the parliamentary domain. In this position, she also worked with several state governments on policy formulation, design, and communication. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Oxford, in addition to a Master’s degree in Modern Indian History from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and a Bachelor’s (Hons.) in History from St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi. 

She is based in New Delhi.
