H.P. Goldfield

H.P. Goldfield is senior consultant to ASG, where he provides strategic advice to clients on international affairs, international trade matters, and general public policy issues. Mr. Goldfield helps clients identify key public policy stakeholders and decision-makers from the political, regulatory and NGO sectors, and works with clients to develop and execute strategies to achieve sustainable results.

Mr. Goldfield also serves as a Senior International Advisor to global law firm Hogan Lovells where he is responsible for international trade and transactional problem-solving activities, and for developing and implementing complex legislative and regulatory strategies.

During the Reagan Administration, Mr. Goldfield served as U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development. In that capacity, he supported the competitive position of U.S. industries in the U.S. and overseas. He was also responsible for developing and implementing export strategies, including export and project finance for American business. Prior to his appointment at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Mr. Goldfield served on the White House staff as Assistant Counsel and subsequently as Associate Counsel to the President.

Previously, he served as assistant and law clerk to Philip W. Buchan, Counsel to President Gerald R. Ford, and was appointed by President Ford to a four-year term as a member of the National Advisory Committee for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

He serves on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and as a Board Member of the International Center for Religion and Diplomacy.

Mr. Goldfield graduated from Georgetown University Law Center and holds a M.A. in Urban Studies from Occidental College. He was one of 36 individuals nationally awarded a CORO Foundation Fellowship in Public Affairs. Mr. Goldfield graduated cum laude from Connecticut College with a B.A. in Asian Studies.
