Manuela Nivia is a Senior Associate with ASG’s Americas practice, where she advises clients on market entry, political risk, and government relations in Latin America. She brings extensive experience in economic research and international development.

Prior to joining ASG, Ms. Nivia was a Visiting Researcher at the United States Institute of Peace where she analyzed the security and justice sectors in Colombia, focusing on the prosecution of war crimes, capacity-building for communities affected by conflict, and horizontal governance. 

Previously, Ms. Nivia interned for the U.S. Agency for International Development where she focused on development policy related to youth and helped develop the U.S. strategy to prevent and respond to gender-based violence globally. She also worked as an International Development Fellow for América Solidaria in Santiago, Chile, and a Program Analyst for the Howard G. Buffett Foundation in Washington, D.C.

She holds an MPP in Global Affairs from Yale University and a B.A. in Global Studies with a concentration in Latin America, and double minors in Social and Economic Justice & Geography from the University of North Carolina. Ms. Nivia speaks Spanish.
