Ambassador Waguih Hanafi is Managing Partner at LYNX, and draws on 40 years in the Egyptian government across diplomatic, legal, and legislative affairs to serve clients. He brings particular expertise in international legal treaties and contracts, as well as international arbitration and the Law of the Sea matters. Earlier in his career, he served as Egypt’s Ambassador to the Netherlands and to Norway and as Legal Advisor to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, he was the Assistant Secretary General for Legal Affairs at the League of Arab States and a member of Egypt’s Permanent Missions to the United Nations in Geneva and New York.
Karim Haggag is Senior Advisor at LYNX, and has over 25 years of service in the Egyptian diplomatic corps, including as Director of the Egyptian Press and Information Office in Washington, D.C. He served in the Office of the Presidency in Cairo, where he was responsible for economic policy coordination, and also served in the political section of Egypt’s embassy in Washington, where he was responsible for political-military affairs and the Middle East peace process. Mr. Haggag is a professor of practice at the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at The American University in Cairo, and is a non-resident fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs’ Middle East Initiative at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
Mohamed Hanafi is Managing Director of LYNX. Previously, Mr. Hanafi served 15 years in the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and brings diverse experience across diplomacy, communications, and policy analysis. At the foreign ministry, he served as the Director for the Egypt Vision 2030 Coordination Unit, Chief of Staff at the Bureau for International and Regional Multilateral Economic Affairs, and Private Secretary and Media Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Prior to his service in government, he was the Political/Projects Officer at the British Embassy in Cairo.
