Anarkalee Perera is a Director with the Technology Policy and Strategy Group at ASG, where she helps advise global clients on AI regulation, platform policy, and emerging tech.  

Prior to joining ASG, Ms. Perera worked at ByteDance in Beijing, where she led the public policy team’s research portfolio on tech policy. Before this, Ms. Perera was a Foreign Lecturer at the China Foreign Affairs University, where she taught international Relations and Economics to future Chinese foreign service professionals and conducted research on China-Sri Lanka relations. She also served as a lead analyst to a Minister of Parliament in the Government of Sri Lanka on Chinese investment projects. Ms. Perera has published numerous articles at think tanks and news outlets, including the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and The American Prospect. 

Ms. Perera has an M.A. in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Ms. Perera is fluent in English and Sinhala, and proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
