Firm expands technology offering for clients navigating complex policy and regulatory arenas
January 31, 2022 (Washington, D.C.) – Dentons Global Advisors-Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG), a leader in global strategic advisory, announces three senior additions to our Washington, D.C. office. Xiaoqing Boynton will join as Senior Vice President for China; Paul Triolo will join as Senior Vice President for China and Technology Policy Lead; and Kevin Allison will join as Vice President for Europe & Eurasia and Technology Policy.
Xiaoqing Boynton rejoins the firm after serving as Senior Director for International Affairs at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), where she developed and executed BIO’s advocacy strategy in key Asian markets. Previously, Ms. Boynton spent eight years with ASG’s China practice and was a Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where she led projects on Chinese socioeconomic transformation and global health issues. She has also advised clients on numerous health security and pharmaceutical industry projects in Asia and worked at the American Bar Association’s Asia Law Initiative in Beijing.
Paul Triolo is a recognized expert in global technology policy. Most recently, he founded and led the Geo-Technology practice at Eurasia Group. He also spent more than 25 years in numerous senior positions in the U.S. government, analyzing China's rise as a technology power and advising senior policymakers on a broad set of technology-related issues. Prior to his government work, he worked as an engineer for a semiconductor testing firm in Silicon Valley. Mr. Triolo is frequently quoted on technology policy issues in major media outlets and has authored many journal articles and book chapters on global technology policy and China-related issues.
“Xiaoqing and Paul bring outstanding experience in two areas of critical importance to global clients – health and technology,” said Amy Celico, Principal and co-lead of the firm’s China practice. “We are proud to welcome them as colleagues and know their deep knowledge of complex issues affecting China and other key markets will be of great value to our clients.”
Kevin Allison was most recently Director and deputy head of the Eurasia Group’s Geo-Technology practice and brings expertise in political and regulatory trends around 5G networks, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and other technologies. Previously, he was a correspondent and a columnist at the Financial Times and Thomson Reuters, where he covered the technology industry, the energy sector, and capital markets. He also worked for UBS Investment Bank, served as a Fulbright Scholar in Austria, and was a journalism fellow in complex systems science at the Santa Fe Institute.
“We are delighted to welcome Kevin to our team,” said James O’Brien, Vice Chair and lead of the firm’s Europe & Eurasia practice. “Europe is setting the pace globally on regulating tech, and Kevin has great experience and networks that will help our clients navigate the changes.”
