Luke Warford is an Analyst with ASG’s Africa Practice, where he advises clients on strategy, market entry, and government relations. Mr. Warford brings unique experience working with government officials across the African continent and helping private sector clients navigate complex political and economic environments.
Prior to joining ASG, Mr. Warford was a Fulbright-Clinton Fellow in the African Union Commission’s Department of Trade and Industry, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In this role, he worked closely with the African Union’s Commissioner for Trade and Industry and stakeholders across the continent to promote trade and industrialization, traveling to more than 10 African countries.
Mr. Warford also has extensive experience working on strategic communications and international cooperation. At Mark Eddo Media, he helped shape the narrative around the 10th World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference in Nairobi in 2015 and he advised the African Union on improving continental coordination with the eight regional economic communities. He also spent over a year at the World Bank, helping strengthen international coordination in response to global health threats.
Additionally, Mr. Warford has been involved in several startups, including helping to launch the New Markets Lab, a non-profit organization that works with small and medium-sized enterprises in sub-Saharan Africa to understand domestic and international legal and regulatory environments. He has also worked on several political and advocacy campaigns, including President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign as an organizer in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mr. Warford has an M.Sc. in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Delaware.
He is proficient in Spanish.
