WASHINGTON, DC (May 3, 2018) - Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG), the global business strategy and commercial diplomacy firm, announced that Manpreet Singh Anand has joined the firm’s South Asia practice, Helen La Lime has joined the Africa practice, and Luis Guillermo Plata has joined the Latin America practice.

  • Manpreet Singh Anand joins ASG as Senior Vice President of the firm’s South Asia practice to lead its Washington, DC-based team. Previously, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of State, where he oversaw U.S. policy towards and diplomatic relations with the countries of South Asia. Earlier in his career, Mr. Anand served at the U.S. Agency for International Development, as a senior policy advisor at a global energy company, and on the House Foreign Affairs Committee staff in the U.S. Congress.

ASG’s South Asia practice includes a network of advisors and partners, based in Washington, DC and New Delhi, with deep operating experience across the region.

  • Ambassador Helen La Lime joins ASG as Senior Advisor after a distinguished 38-year career in the U.S. Foreign Service during which she earned the rank of Minister Counselor and served twice as ambassador. Most recently she served as U.S. Ambassador to Angola, and before that as the Director of Outreach with U.S. Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany. As U.S. Ambassador to Mozambique she helped expand the U.S. business relationships through the ratification of a Trade and Investment Framework Agreement.  

ASG’s Africa practice includes two former U.S. Assistant Secretaries of State for African Affairs, among other senior experts, and a network across the continent, with advisors based in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Uganda.

  • Luis Guillermo Plata, based in Bogotá, joins ASG as Senior Advisor. Previously, as Colombia’s Minister of Trade, Industry, and Tourism, he was responsible for policy and the promotion of exports, foreign investments, and tourism in Colombia. Minister Plata negotiated free trade agreements with Canada, Central America, and the European Union. He also served as CEO of PROEXPORT (now PROCOLOMBIA), the Colombian government agency in charge of promoting trade, investment, and tourism.
