Martin Baily, Melody Barnes, Arturo Fermandois and Richard Williamson Expand Albright Stonebridge Group’s Global Reach and Services

Washington, DC (July 12, 2012) – Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG), a global strategy firm, today announced the addition of four new Senior Directors – former Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisors Martin Baily, former White House Domestic Policy Advisor Melody Barnes, former Chilean Ambassador to Washington Arturo Fermandois and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Richard Williamson.

  • Martin Baily, former Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisors, is based inWashington,DC. Previously, Baily served as a senior advisor to the McKinsey Global Institute and to the Congressional Budget Office. He also serves as a Senior Fellow in Brookings’ Economic Studies Program, holding the Bernard L. Schwartz Chair in Economic Policy Development. As one of the leadingU.S.economists, Baily will advise ASG and its clients on macroeconomic trends, risk and private capital investment around the world.
  • Melody Barnes, former Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, is based inWashington,DC. Previously, she was the Executive Vice President for Policy at the Center for American Progress and served as Chief Counsel to Senator Edward M. Kennedy on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Barnes currently serves asNew YorkUniversity’s Vice Provost for Global Student Leadership Initiatives and Senior Fellow at the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, as well as Chair of the Aspen Forum for Community Solutions. In her role as Senior Director, Barnes will provide strategic advice and help ASG’s clients forge multi-sector partnerships – uniting public, private, and civil society sectors to deliver solutions.
  • Arturo Fermandois, previously the Ambassador of Chile to the United States, is based inSantiago,Chile. A regular contributor to Chilean and foreign professional journals, Fermandois is an expert in economic regulatory law. He is also Professor of Constitutional Law at the Catholic University of Chile, and has been a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School. Ambassador Fermandois will bring his deep understanding of Chilean trade, investment and legal environment to ASG clients, providing strategic advice on market entry, corporate positioning and strategic issues in Chile.
  • Richard Williamson, former Ambassador to the United Nations is based inChicago, where he is Senior Fellow for the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and Visiting Professor of International Relations at Northwestern University’s Buffet Center. Williamson is also the founder of Salisbury Strategies LLP, a consulting firm focusing on international business and regulatory issues. Previously, he held foreign policy positions under Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, including as Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs, Assistant Secretary of State, Ambassador to the United Nations and Ambassador the UN Commission on Human Rights. Drawing on his deep international experience, with a particular focus on Africa and theMiddle East, Ambassador Williamson will provide ASG’s clients strategic advice and assistance from both Washington and Chicago.
