Center for American Progress: Carol Browner to participate on panel about opportunities to combat climate change

Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, October 24, as part of the Center for American Progress’s 10-year anniversary policy conference, CAP will host a panel discussion on the environmental and economic challenges of climate change and the opportunity to develop climate solutions that promote a healthier environment while generating economic growth. Former Vice President Al Gore will deliver remarks following a panel featuring Tom Steyer, Van Jones, and American Progress’ John Podesta and Carol Browner.
With 1.8 billion people in the middle class worldwide, the tools that will be used to combat climatechange, including energy sources and land conservation, are economic opportunities for the middle class that we should begin exploring now. The panel will discuss how, as we come out of a global economic recession, our challenge is to push for new investments in clean energy technologies that provide climate solutions and can spur economic development.
